We wore the same Zara dress as three other women to a wedding last spring. That was the moment we decided we needed to stop shopping at the same five fast-fashion stores as everyone else. StyleWe came up in a fashion forum, and we’ve ordered four pieces from them over the past six months—each one … Read more
We walked into a Sandro Paris store on Rue Saint-Honoré in 2022 looking for a blazer we could wear to client meetings and weekend dinners alike. We left with a structured wool-blazer in deep bottle green that cost €295 — more than we’d ever spent on a single jacket. Three years later, that blazer is … Read more
We bought our first Igloo cooler at a Walmart in 2016 for $39 — a basic 25-quart Legend that we used for weekend camping trips across Texas. Eight years and roughly 60+ outings later, that cooler still holds ice for a full day in 90-degree heat. We’ve since added an Igloo BMX 52 to our … Read more
We bought our first used camera body from MPB in 2021 — a Sony a7 III with about 12,000 shutter count for $1,450, which was $400 below retail at the time. It arrived in four days, packed in a custom-molded box, and the shutter count matched exactly what was listed. Three years and two trade-ins … Read more
We booked our first Radisson stay in 2019 — a Radisson Blu in Hamburg, Germany, for a three-day conference. What sold us wasn’t the room (though the bed was excellent). It was the fact that we earned enough points on that single stay to cover a free night at a Park Inn in Lisbon six … Read more
We still remember the chaos when Fenty Beauty dropped in 2017. Forty foundation shades launched on day one, and every makeup aisle we walked into had a display picked clean. We grabbed shade 330 — the one no other brand seemed to make — and for the first time, our skin actually matched the bottle. … Read more
We needed a GORE-TEX jacket for a backcountry trip in the Canadian Rockies and every local shop either didn’t have our size or wanted full retail. Altitude Sports had the Arc’teryx Alpha SV in stock, C$50 off, and it arrived at our door in Toronto three days later. That was two years ago, and we’ve … Read more
We held off on a Sam’s Club membership for two years because we didn’t think we’d shop there enough to justify the cost. That was a mistake. After crunching the numbers from our first six months as a Club member, we saved enough on groceries, household basics, and gas to cover the $50 annual fee … Read more
We’ve bought our share of last-minute gift cards and Prime-delivered presents. They’re fine. Nobody complains. But we noticed that the gifts people actually remember, the ones they still talk about a year later, came from Etsy. The platform connects you with independent makers who craft personalized items, and that level of customization changes the entire … Read more
We carried a bulky trifold wallet for years. It was packed with receipts, loyalty cards, and expired gym memberships we never removed. Switching to a Bellroy minimalist wallet forced us to confront how much unnecessary stuff we were hauling around daily. After using the Bellroy Card Pocket for eight months, we can explain why the … Read more
